Ion B. is a 62 year-old homeless man. His bed is a filthy foam mattress at the bottom of a garbage chute. Ion sorts through the daily household garbage of the block, avidly reading the books, magazines and newspapers he finds.
Since the 70’s he has been creating collages from these books that he calls "my films". A few years ago, Ion Barladeanu was an inconspiculous homeless alcoholic with a stack of original collages who then could never foresee his unlikely rise to fame in the art circles.
In November 2010, Alexander Nanau’s film received an International Emmy. It won the award for Best Documentary at the Cape Winelands Film Festival 2011.
